Cosmetics, Moisturizers, Lipsticks, Powders....and Pretty Things

Cosmetics, Lipsticks, Blushes, Powders...

www.Clarins.com

Few companies do moisturizers as well as Clarins. These are two new entries that take the fatigue and yucky pallor from your face. Instead, you are left with dewy, fresh skin>
The Hydra Quench moisturizer is not a cream, serum, nor lotion but rather a gel with a creamy look and refreshing gel texture. It sinks in as if your skin was a sponge. No wonder it's being called the 'miracle in the a blue jar' - what with its Extracts of Alpine willow herb and pomegranate among other boosters that are vitamens for the skin>

The Clarins Extra Firming Day Cream is for those wanted firmness and a lifting effect (it's called face lift in a jar among cosmetic bloggers) and is replete with extracts of lemon thyme, green banana and bocoa and ever popular hyaluronic acid. Great for women in the 40's or early 50's. Both at www.clarins.com

Estee Lauder Blush
Estee Lauder Signature 5-Tone Shimmer Powder

http://www.esteelauder.com/index.tmpl

Blush is  blush, right? Wrong. Whether you choose Estee Lauder's 5-Tone Shimmer Powder or their Pure Color Blush, you will be radiant. Seriously - these products make your skin light up from within. You'll catch yourself in the mirror in the mall and delight in the beautiful blushing stranger (you!). Ever want to look dewy and pink-ish but not artificially so? Then try Exotic Pink or Pink Kiss and feel the glow.

Estee Lauder Idealist, Even Skintone Illuminator

This is one of those products that promises and delivers but more than that - it is like silk to smooth on and smells like Paradise. I have a real reticence about high performance, anti-aging moisturizer or skin treatments that either smell horrid or go on as thick as vaseline. So when you get a state-of-the-art skin even tone product like Estee Lauder's amazing Idealist, that also smells divine (like a cross between fresh lavender and grapefruit) and is a pleasure to put on, chances are you'll use it regularly and reap the benefits accordingly. I have. I do. Highly recommended.

Flawless Skin from Laura Geller
http://www.laurageller.com/

No one makes better cover up, foundation or blush than Laura Geller. I first figured this out when friends sent me their photos and they looked radiant and young. Their skin looked flawless! What was that about? It was Laura Geller Balance n Brighten Baked Color Correcting Foundation, Baked Blush-n-Brighten Cheek Color, Barely There Tinted Moisturizer (with SPF20, and their famed Real Deal Concealer. These products are barely there but cover a host of imperfections with the lightest touch possible. Their powder and blush brush is also well-priced and applies their products like silk and gold dust.  Watch Laura Geller product demo on QVC http://www.laurageller.com/tv-schedule

Our favorite organic line from Australia, Miessence - best moisturizers, essential oil perfumers and a Sephora-favorite hair conditioner. Sephora customarily votes this as one of their best

www.Thalgo.com

I just found the best moisturizer and face and body care products on the planet! Thalgo is a marine based line of moisturizers and lotions (as well as offering cosmetics and treatment products). The focus is on mature skin and their research into what they make is extensive. It shows because their products are incredible? How incredible? The scent is the first thing you notice. If you dislike heavy moisturizers and creams because of their 'cosmetic' or weird fragrance - then you are in luck. Thalgo smells like light rain in a forest; scents differ a bit from product to product but each one is so inviting that you have no trouble remembering to use these vitamin and nutritionally packed products to begin with. Then, it's the results. No matter which product I tried, my skin was left dewy fresh and glowing. In a word: it is remarkable. Like over-priced, celebrity-driven Creme de la Mere, Thalgo uses marine based research to make regenerative skin products.
Whether you try their Energising Vitality Cream, Relaxing Cream, Delicious Comfort Cream,  Anti Wrinkle Cream, or Extreme Comfort Cream or their more intensive serums, you will see an immediate difference. There are equal product offerings in skin maintenance or renewal and repair (even resurface). Each is like a spa in a jar (did we mention the texture is like silk?). Perfect for Mother's Day but rejoice - you've just found the best line of cosmetics that just might be your best kept secret. But share the good news!

http://www.bonnebell.com/index.html

Wow - Bonne Belle? Remember when White White, Bonne Belle Gel Blush in Sheer Pink and a Bonne Gloss stick was all you needed? Beloved Bonne Belle is still here and still the freshest, prettiest make-up around. It's more than nostalgia - it's incredibly effective make-up. Not to mention their famed Ten-o-Six Toner (just the scent brings back memories) which is still one of the best toners around. Their Colorada Sage Cologne for Guys (Jess Bell) is the stuff urban cowboys are made of. Visit the site to check out the gloss sticks and tubes (not only do they wor; they taste great)

http://www.kiehls.com/_us/_en/home/index.aspx
Nothing beats Kiehls for classic cosmetics, that are environmentally friendly, skin gorgeous, and effective for all sorts of skin and hair needs. Their Blue Astringent Lotion is renown, as is their famed Creme de Corps, an ultra absorbing lotion that leaves your skin like silk. Their lip glosses have Hollywood starlets abuzz but their limited edition lotions, Pear Tree Lotion, as well as Cranberry, Spiced Plum are worth stocking up on. Otherwise their Grapefruit Lotion, with Oatmeal and Aloe Vera or their classic Vanilla Hand and Body Lotion are the ones to choose. Kiehl is also known for their other toners, (aside from the Blue Astringent classic) and Yerba Mate tea Cleanser is the one to try. Last, their fragrances - their Musk oil for men or women is a signature scent; and if you can find it, their Vanilla Oil has the je-ne-sais-quoi, pure allure factor.

Amazing Neutrogena Mineral Sheer Blush for radiance and glow in a push up blush
Aveeno - BB's Best Moisturizer for all round care. Smells amazing; leaves you glowing

Sometimes classic, pharmacy lines can be the best. Such is the case with the amazing line of Aveeno products. Their moisturizers are reasonably priced, smell great (light and fresh, light a dewy forest; no heavy greasy moisturizer smell), they do the job (their Positively Radiant with a 30 FPS Sunblock and their Clear Complexion Moisturizer with Soy complex and salicylic acid( really do brighten as well as soften your face and neck area. For the price, I found this as good, if not better, than tried and true Oil of Olay Special Effects. Neutrogena also has a few great offerings but their Healthy Skin Rejuvenator was a happy surprise. It gently exfoliates, freshens and brights the face. We also recommend the Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Blush. Here is a compact, easy to apply, blush that makes you glow in a natural way. Try the lip glosses too for a pouty, shine without dense colour.

http://junejacobs.com/index.asp

June Jacobs is a spa line, which is to say a unique, well-researched line of incomparable skin care products that you would find in a spa, health resort, or upscale hair salon where skin treatment products are sold.  The products are made with the best quality ingredients and geared towards a variety of skin needs. The scent is also light, the textures notably un-greasy. One of the very best is the Hune Jacobs Intensive Age Defying Hydrating Complex. This is a fantastic moisturizer, day or night, as well as neck cream. it seems to plump up the skin and give you a glow. One of the best kept secrets in the skin care world.
