(c) A Marcy Goldman, BetterBaking.Com Original Recipe www.BetterBaking.Com Baker's Caramel Where To Get It or How To Make ItThis is easy to make but easier to buy. One small bottle should last a long time! It is used in Xmas Black Cake and an authentic Dark Rye or Pumpernickle Bread. Baker's Caramel is simply burnt sugar. You simmer sugar on low heat in a heavy pan until it turns to the color and consistency of brewed coffee. In a pinch, you can substitute Kitchen Bouquet, a gravy browner available in most supermarkets in the soup area. You can make baker's caramel, or purchase it at http://www.naturesflavors.com It is also available at www.goldaskitchen.com. © This is a Marcy Goldman/BetterBaking.com original recipe This recipe is for sole, personal use of visitors of BetterBaking.Com Online Magazine.
