These are oversized scones with a soda bread birthright. Wonderfully rustic. You can make it more so by using more whole-wheat flour and you can also choose, sweeter, nuttier, white whole-wheat flour. To give as gifts, wrap a couple of these in brown paper or a pastry box with a green ribbon, or in two’s in a cello bag with a green ribbon and a side packet of Irish Breakfast or Assam tea.
